Formally known as the beatnikbaker, I decided to change my name to the beatnikblogger. I am still passionate about alternative, healthier and vegan baking and will continue to post and write about recipes. I also have a strong passion for fashion, beauty and an active lifestyle. I’m searching for more in this life. I want to live greener, more plant-based and cruelty free. I love nature and animals with my whole being and want to do what I can to help preserve both. When I see destruction and abuse of either, my heart rips, little by little and my body is full of angst. I want to pursue this lifestyle, while also continuing my passion for fashion, beauty and baking.
So now my quest has changed paths a bit. A curve in the road, but one that is taking me to an even better place. I want to research, experiment and expose myself to vegan/plant-based/cruelty free fashion, beauty and baking products and options. I want to write about and share my findings-what worked, what didn’t, where and how to buy these things.
Changing your lifestyle and way of living is a big task and one that has many more components than we would initially think. This will be a process and you may not agree with everything I post and write about. But that’s ok! I’m not here to preach or push my beliefs onto anyone. I just want to share my great findings with you. I want to show you that you can still be the fashionista you always were, live a life you are accustomed to and eat delicious treats, all while at the same time, helping save the planet and lives of animals.
I am a free spirit and will always dance to the beat of my own drum. I am not conventional nor traditional and do things at my own pace-NEVER what society expects or tells me to do. Screw that! I am a beatnik kid always and forever-during the past, in the present and into the future.
I’m excited for this journey into this more fulfilling lifestyle. I an not a full blown vegan (I am a vegetarian), but still want to make what little difference I can in safeguarding the planet and animals. One step at a time is all it takes to start helping. I have been told that my beliefs and changes won’t make a difference, so why bother? I disagree. We all need something to believe in, something that fills our bodies with a passion and hunger that can’t be satiated. Whether this lifestyle leaves the smallest dent on the planet or a huge crater the size of the Grand Canyon, I will have helped the world become a greener and more peaceful place.
I am venturing down a path less traveled, but i’m ready.
